WHEN GOD TAKES OVER
09/14/06

Ministering: Pastor Tony Akpati
Date:09-14-06
Topic: When God takes over.
Text: 2Chron.20:1-25).

The things we are fighting are invisible. ..for by strength shall no man prevail(1Sam.2:9)...not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit saith the Lord of hosts. Jesus said "for without me you can do nothing"(Jn.15:5).
The cheapest way to victories in life is allowing God to take over
your battles. The question now is, how do I turn over my battles to God?
1)BEING BORN AGAIN: God will only fight for His children. God created everyone on earth, but not everyone on earth is a child of God. Jn.1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God"
Church membership, being born into a christian home, baptism, etc, does not mean you are born again
It is only those that are washed
in the blood of the lamb, those who have confessed and forsaken their sins(Prov.28:13), those that have received Jesus into their life as their Lord and personal savior, that are the children of God. Be sure you are born again
or give your life to Christ now.
2)YOUR WAYS MUST BE PLEASING TO HIM
You cannot live a crooked life and expect God to fight for you, even though you are his child. Anybody can approve of you, but if God does
not approve of you, you are disqualified
Prov.16:7 when a man's ways pleases
the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
1Jn.3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we
receive of him,(not because we go to church, or has one title attached to our names),paraphrased,
but because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
Jn.8:29 And he that sent me is with me, the Father has not left me alone, for I do always those things that please him. In other words, if you don't please God you are on your own. You must choose obedience as a way of life, avoid sin in your life. The eyes of God are too holy to behold iniquity. Jesus was not spared, when he took upon him the sin of the whole world
the Father forsook him(Matt.27:46).
3)PRAYER: Communion and communication between God our heavenly father and man. It is through prayer that we invite God into our situations. Ps.115:16. The
childrenof Israel were in captivity
for 430 years. God did not do anything until they cried out unto him(Ex.2:23-25, Ex.3:7-8). Jam.5:13
to 17 Is any afflicted? let him pray,...effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man availeth much.
It is the prayer you pray when your life is in agreement with God. This is the prayer that brings result. It is not the shouting or shaking of your head, neither is it your phonetics or language collation. In fact you can pray it in your vernacular. Prov.21:27, Jn.9:31.
Without a constant touch with heaven, Jesus would not have made it to the cross. That's why he encouraged us to pray and not to faint(Lk.18:1).
