ARTICLE: STRICTLY FOR BROTHERS
08-02-2006

I also am "a man subject to like passion as you are", we live in the same world and we are all being sought by the same adversary
We have the same enemy, under the same condition and constitution. We have the same desire to live a good respectable life, to love God
with all our hearts and serve Him in a way acceptable to Him. We have
the same Savior and Advocate, even
Jesus Christ our Lord. If then I, being a companion to you, have a word to share with you to cheer you and make you victorious you ought to listen.
This world is a stage of excitement
and wherever you go you need a word of advice and counselto keep you unspotted and undefiled. One of the great problems of men, throughout the ages, is women. Indeed the woman was created to help, keep, care for and love the man. But the world being what it is
women has been much harm rather than help, killers rather than keepers. We do not mean to say that there are not good women who are helpful, loving and Christlike.
Many women have been converted to Christ and they can be wonderful. But the majority of the women in the world are under the rule of the god of this world.
From the earliest times, men have had to learn by bitter experience could cause terrible downfall. Joseph was a beloved son of his father, Jacob. He loved God and had known early in life that God would exalt and prosper him above his brethren. "And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man...and the Lord made
all that he did to prosper in his hand." (Gen.39:2,3) "And it came to pass after this things" after he had known the Lord and had been
loved and prospered by God,"that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph and she said, lie with me." Can you see Joseph's temptation, a woman speaking to him
in a language of love from a heart of lust, inviting him to sin? Is the world any different today? Are the women any different? Is the temptation to lust and immorality any less common? Where are the men like Joseph today who can forfeit their coat, reputation and prosperity to preserve "a conscience void of offence toward God and toward men"?
